3 Quick Smoothies For Good Health

Let me take you through a journey of smoothies; delightfully yummy, filling and healthy. So if you are ready to hear a story of love and happy living, here is the dough to gobble up at your first chance.

Mango-Coconut Green Smoothie

Mango-Coconut Green Smoothie

Just 5 minutes is all that the recipe asks, and per serving is for one person only.

INGREDIENTS

  • Half a cup of coconut water

  • A quart cup low-fat cheese

  • A cup of spinach/kale chopped

  • Half a cup of frozen banana slices

  • Half a cup of chopped ripe or raw mango

  • A tablespoon of flaxseeds

  • Honey to taste

Why I love this smoothie, because it has mango in it. Along with mango, you can add banana and spinach in the smoothie, blend it with coconut water and cottage cheese (a source of protein), and voila – a delicious smoothie for you. Add a little flaxseed to this heavenly concoction, and it brings in the much needed Omega 3 fats our bodies need; keeps the digestive system in check as well.
Tip: If you suffer from sleep issues, you can add curd and bananas or spinach/kale to the smoothie for a nice night sleep.
Smoothies are best for healthy snacking options, at brunches or between meals. But, when you add yogurt or sour curd, bananas and spinach/kale to them, you now would have more sleep at night. Why does this happen? Bananas and kale are known to promote sleep, curd too.

Citrus Berry Smoothie

Citrus Berry SmoothieWow, I am so glad I came across this ‘meal-in-a-glass’ smoothie – why? It has antioxidants in plenty, thanks to the orange and berries in it – carbohydrates too and keeps me full. Perfect for people who are always on the go and active – free radicals stand no chance to create more cancer and tumor cells, because the antioxidants kill them all. Moreover, antioxidants help the skin and hair too – and the iron content in the fruits helps transport oxygen from one part of the body to another. Power packed Citrus Berry Smoothie isn’t it?

You just need 5 minutes for the Citrus Berry Smoothie and that is all it takes for a healthy drink to enjoy.

INGREDIENTS

  • One and a half cup of berries
  • Three-fourth cup of curd
  • 2 tbsp dry milk powder (non-fat)
  • A tablespoon of honey
  • A table spoon of vanilla essence

PREPARATION

Place all the ingredients in a blender and blend for 5 minutes until it forms a smooth paste. Add a little water to thin it, only if you want it a little thin. Garnish with mint or fresh herbs of your choice; sip away!

By the way, I am actually gaining weight instead of losing it since i started exercizing so I certainly need to relook my diet and timings of my diet.
