7 Ways to use coconut to kick the sugar habit
A big hello to all those who have quit sugar or are planning to quit it. This post is exclusively for you! You can use coconuts to fill the void left by sugar. You can relish coconuts as flakes, coconut cream, fresh coconut, coconut milk or coconut oil. These things work pretty well when it comes to dealing with cravings.
Coconut oil is chiefly made up of medium chain fatty acids that have loads of health benefits to offer. The fatty acids easily permeate cell membranes and don’t require any special enzymes in order to be broken down. This makes them easily digestible. The fatty acids get converted to energy instead of getting stored as fat in the body.
Coconut oil does not cause an insulin spike in the blood the way carbohydrates do. This helps in preventing energy slumps.
To good!! Here are some ways in which you can include coconut in your diet to replace sugar. So, here we go!!
1) Drink a glass of tender coconut water
There is nothing as refreshing as tender coconut water. It is known to be 3 times more hydrating than water. It is a good electrolyte too. Nowadays there isn’t much problem about their availability as I have seen them in Delhi too! A few months back I had tasted a packaged can of coconut water, it claimed that it had a bio preservative in it. Fairly good as it was chilled, but I will go in for the fresh tender coconut anytime as plenty is available here!
