Take 10,000 steps
Walking is a very good form of exercise. It helps elevate your mood, keeps your heart fit by challenging it and also helps in reducing food cravings. You should take at least 10,000 steps each day including a 30 minute brisk walk or split it into 3 ten-minute walks.
Floss your teeth
Oral hygiene is not only good for the mouth but also for your overall health. Uncared gums can spread bacteria into the bloodstream and this can lead to inflammation and heart disease. So, remember to floss your teeth everyday for your good health.
Get your dose of omega 3
Omega-3 fatty acids that are found in fatty fish help in maintaining the right levels of good cholesterol and lower bad cholesterol in the body. However, if you don’t eat fish, you can simply have a plant based omega 3 supplement. Simple!
Break your multivitamin
In order to get a steady supply of vitamins and minerals all day long, it would be advisable to take one half of your multivitamin along with breakfast and the other half with your dinner. However, don’t take it right before bed as the B-vitamins present in it can disrupt your sleep. It would be advisable to consult your doctor before taking any supplement.
White sugar and high fructose corn syrup are bad for health as they have almost no nutritional value. Over consumption of both can cause obesity, heart trouble and even depression. Carry carrots, apples and nuts wherever you go so that you don’t snack on sugar loaded candies and drinks. Processed junk food packed with sugar is no good as it doesn’t provide the same sustained energy that you will get from whole foods.
Exercise while watching TV
Yes, you can utilize the time you spend in front of the TV set for your benefit. You can exercise while watching your favourite show. You can walk on your treadmill, walk at the same spot or workout with light dumbbells while watching a TV show.
You should sleep for more than 7 hours at night at least. Anything less than that can trigger the hormone cortisol that can lead to depression and weight gain. Having a nap during day time is also advisable. However, it is not possible to doze off in the office. Make sure you are well rested at night. Try turning off your TV and computer at least one hour prior to bedtime this is because the bright lights can keep you awake.
Do something good for others
