List Of Anti-Inflammatory Foods

Living in a stressed environment and eating foods that cause inflammation can increase the chances of chronic inflammation in the body.

1) Berries
Berries are little fruits loaded with fibre, minerals and vitamins. There are many varieties of berries but the common ones are:
- Strawberries.
- Raspberries.
- Blueberries.

Berries are known to contain anthocyanins. They are antioxidants that have anti-inflammatory effects. They help reduce the risk of several diseases. The body is known to produce natural killer cells (NK) that help in keeping your immune system working right.

2) Fatty fish
Fatty fish have lots of protein and omega 3 fatty acids, namely EPA and DHA to offer.
EPA and DHA help reduce inflammation that can otherwise cause several diseases like metabolic syndrome, diabetes, heart disease and kidney disease.
3) Broccoli
Broccoli is very nutritious. It belongs to the family of cruciferous veggies. Eating cruciferous veggies is linked to the decrease in the risk of heart disease and cancer. This is primarily because of anti-inflammatory effects of the antioxidants present in cruciferous veggies.
4) Avocados
Avocados are regarded a superfood. They are loaded with healthy monounsaturated fats, potassium, magnesium and lots of fibre. One compound in avocados has shown reduction in inflammation. People who have avocado in their diet have lower levels of inflammation.
5) Green tea
The health benefits of green tea are due to the presence of antioxidants and anti-inflammatory compounds. It is a very healthy beverage as it wards off many diseases.
6) Mushrooms
Mushrooms are a low calorie food and are rich in selenium, copper and B vitamins. Mushrooms have compounds that help in providing anti-inflammatory protection.
7) Grapes
The anthocyanins in grapes help reduce inflammation. They ward off diabetes, obesity, heart disease, Alzheimer’s and eye disorders. Grapes are also a great source of resveratrol which is another wonderful antioxidant.
8) Turmeric
Turmeric has a powerful anti-inflammatory compound in it called curcumin. It is known to reduce the inflammation that is related to diseases like arthritis and diabetes. Consuming black pepper along with turmeric is useful as it boosts curcumin absorption by 2000%.
9) Extra Virgin Olive Oil
Extra Virgin Olive Oil is known to be the healthiest kind of fat. Studies have been carried out in connection to its anti-inflammatory properties. It is associated with a reduced risk of brain cancer, heart disease, and other serious ailments.
10) Dark chocolate
Dark chocolate is loaded with antioxidants that help reduce inflammation. Flavanols are behind the anti-inflammatory effects of chocolate. Just make sure that the dark chocolate you choose has 70% cocoa in it.
11) Tomatoes
Tomatoes are rich in potassium, vitamin C and lycopene. Lycopene is an antioxidant that has some wonderful anti-inflammatory properties. It is known to prevent different types of cancer. Cooking tomatoes in olive oil can increase the absorption of lycopene.
