Easy Salad Dressings For Weight Loss
Hi everyone
After making that Cold Cucumber Soup (Find recipe here) I remembered that for the last two years I had been planning to make my own salad dressings. I find such tempting recipes all over the internet but every time I find some alien ingredient in it so get put off and opt for my very own lemon juice salt and pepper seasoning.
Today in the morning when I was cleaning up kitchen, I found cute little pet bottles of flavoured milk which I had collected over the period of time. Yes, you guessed it right, I am in the habit of collecting cute little containers and bottles which can be reused later on to store things. I have at least 12 such bottles so I decided to store my powdered masalas in them…(I tell you they look very cute with all those colourful seasonings in them) Anyways, so I suddenly thought of creating some easy salad dressings for weight loss according to my taste and, of course using all the easily available ingredients. I made three of them so now without wasting time let me give the recipes of all three salad dressings.
Here is the first one
Creamy Spinach Mayo Dressing
Ingredients
White Vinegar – 100 ml
Mayonnaise (Recipe here) – 3 tbsp
Spinach – handful washed
Salt, pepper to taste
Oregano – 1/4 tsp (optional)
Put all ingredients in a blender and blend till all mix well and look creamy. You can add extra Mayonnaise if you want a really rich blend of this dressing.
Basil Honey Apple Cider Vinegar Dressing
I used Apple Cider Vinegar in this dressing as I thought of having some extra goodness of health in this dressing.
Ingredients
Apple Cider Vinegar – 100 ml
Honey – 2 tbsp
Basil – half tsp
Holy basil crushed (fresh tulsi leaves) – 3-4
Salt, pepper according to taste.
Put all ingredients in a bottle or jar and give a real fierce shake. This dressing will take some time to mature so just shake it well and let it be.
And then here comes a winner dressing, which can be used to spice up your bland soups too. Very very Indian tangy and spicy taste.
Tangy Spicy Indian Salad Dressing
Ingredients
White Vinegar or Apple Cider Vinegar – 100 ml
Onion powder – 1/4 tsp (optional)
Garlic Powder – 1/4 tsp (2 cloves of crushed garlic also can be used)
Olive Oil or any refined oil – 4 tbsp
Salt to taste
Red Chilli powder – 1 tsp
A bit of stevia/ brown sugar/ honey
Put all ingredients in a bottle and just shake vigorously to blend everything well.
So that was that… my home made damn easy salad dressings. By the way, I am sure you are going to love using them to season your soups and steamed veggies, and yes all three can be used to marinate your meats and soy also. Try it.
And here is what I did after making all these dressings…
Yes, I made a big bowl of Wilted spinach eggs and peppers salad using Creamy spinach mayo dressing and I tell you it was just yummy beyond words.
