India’s Vegetarian Fitness Icon-Narendra Modi’s Fitness Secrets
Hello All!!!
The Prime Minister of India, Narendra Modi is a political icon. The commoners look up to him. He is known for his discipline, stature and power packed speeches that have left a great impression on the mind and hearts of many people. He is extremely forceful and dynamic in his delivery of speeches. But along with being a political icon, he is also a fitness icon. Let us view him not from the political angle but from the fitness angle. He is fit as a fiddle, agree? The energy in him is much more than that of a teenager. His fitness is the talk of the town. The way he carries himself and the way his voice booms in each and every speech is something worth noting. In this post, I am going to focus on Narendra Modi’s fitness secrets.
This is the first time that a politician’s fitness is being discussed on our blog. There is something in our Prime Minister that sets him apart from the rest. All of us know that he is a workaholic and is busy round the clock. He has been visiting different countries and travelling all this while. He still manages to keep himself fit. The question is how? A combination of diet and proper exercise are behind his fitness. Nobody is able to equal him in this regard!
Narendra Modi leads an ascetic lifestyle. Being fitness conscious, he wakes up at 5 a.m. He practices yoga and pranayama for an hour every morning, following which he goes for a morning walk. An early morning walk has its own benefits. After yoga and his walk, he skims through the newspaper and reads article that criticize him. If he is travelling he is sent article clippings from his office so that he is aware of what critics are saying about him.
Talking about food, he is a pure vegetarian. He has put a full stop to notions that vegetarians can’t be as energetic or as healthy as those who eat non-veg 😛 His food is simple. His favourite being Gujrati style khichdi and bhakhri (crispy rotis). His other favourites are poha and South Indian idli and dosa. His enjoys south Indian food for breakfast. During navratras, he observes a fast on all the nine days. Eating just one fruit in a day! Can you believe that?
Our PM is ready by 7:30 a.m. and goes to office very early. He works there till 10 pm if need be. He likes to wear well ironed and starched clothes that bring out his personality. Talking about his sleeping habits, he sleeps very less. Each night he sleeps only for 5 hours. On days when he sleeps late, he still wakes up at 5 am. Though people need an average of 8 hours of sleep a day to feel fresh, Narendra Modi is able to be dynamic with just 5 hours of sleep!!
Following a strict life and schedule he is able to make an immensely huge impact on the minds of people.

I am totally impressed. I am also a pure vegetarian, but not really disciplined. This article comes as a wakeup call. There should be no reason for any individual to lead a non disciplined life, be it a PM or a common man.
