Low Carb Cabbage Recipe For Weight Loss
Cabbage has gained quite a lot of popularity as the food for health conscious people. It has very less calories and almost zero fat. Cabbage has 10% dietary fibre which is a really high quantity.
Fibre intake makes body feel full without consuming a lot of food. When you feel full early, you naturally eat less. Fibre also takes relatively more time in getting chewed completely. So while you are at it, your brain gets an early signal of having eaten.
In most appetite levels do not vary much on a daily basis. This means that you eat almost the same weight of food daily. Food rich in fibre makes you feel satisfied early compared to food without fibre so you gain less calories in the same amount of food.
Cabbage can be eaten in many ways and this recipe is a very good option for vegetarian people on a diet.
- Cabbage (grated)- 300 gm
- Gram Flour (besan)- 50 gm
- Chopped green chilies- as per taste
- Ghee/oil- 1/ tsp
Take grated cabbage in a bowl and add in gram flour and green chilies.
Make flat discs of the mixture.
Now add ghee/oil in an appam pan and put the cabbage discs in it.
Cook them on both sides. It will take 5-10 minutes.
Serve with mint chutney.
The benefit of using appam pan is that the dish is not shallow fried. It is just fried in a pan without losing its shape. There is almost no oil in the recipes cooked using appam pan.
