In one particular study, researchers have found that people who ate more than 140 g (5 ounces) of fish rich in omega 3 each week, reduced the development of skin lesions (precancerous) by about 30 percent. According to scientists, omega 3 acts as a shield in protecting cells from damage caused by free radicals.

Consuming foods rich in vitamin C is associated with lesser chances of having age –related dryness and wrinkled skin in middle-age women. This effect of vitamin C may be due to its antioxidant nature that helps in protecting the skin from UV rays and keeps skin firm.
