Best Exercise To Lose Weight- 10 Minute Cardio Workout

Presenting equipment-free cardio workout that can be done easily at the comfort of your home. And it is short enough to be squeezed into your daily schedule.

You will burn calories and lose weight with the 10 minute cardio workout.

Pre-exercise warm up

You need to warm up and stretch properly prior to your exercise in order to prevent injury. This will also make your workouts more effective.

Let us get going with the workout!

  • Rocket jumps

Stand with your feet a hip width apart. Keep your legs bent and place your hands on the thighs. Jump up and drive your hands straight above the head and extend the entire body. Land softly on the floor. Repeat after repositioning your feet. To make it more challenging, lower down into a squat and hold a weight (even a bottle of water will do) in both hands at the centre of the chest.

Recovery- Walk or jog on the same spot for 15 to 45 seconds.

Do 2 sets of 15 to 24 reps.

Stand tall while keeping your arms on your sides and your knees slightly bent. Jump up and extend the arms and legs into the shape of a star in mid air. Land in a soft manner, with the knees together and hands by the sides. During the exercise keep your back straight and abs tight.

Squats

There is also a less energetic alternative and that is squats. Stand with the feet a shoulder width apart and your hands by your sides or out-stretched for extra balanced. Bending your knees, lower yourself until the knees are at a right angle and the thighs are parallel to the floor. Remember to keep your back straight and don’t allow your knees to extend over the toes.

You can do 2 sets of 15 to 24 reps

Recovery- Walk or jog on the same spot for 15 to 45 seconds.

  • Tap backs

Step the right leg back and swing both of your arms forward and repeat with the opposite leg in following a rhythmic movement. Look forwards with your hips and shoulders facing forwards. As you step back, don’t let the front knee extend over the toes. To make it more challenging, you can switch legs by jumping. Always remember to land softly and keep your back heel off the floor.

Do 2 sets of 15 to 24 reps.

Recovery- Walk or jog on the same spot for 15 to 45 seconds.

In order to do a burpee, drop into a squat from your standing position while keeping your hands on the ground. Kick the feet back into a push-up position. Jump the feet back into a squat and jump up with the arms extending overhead. To make things easier, don’t kick into the push position, just stand up instead of jumping.

Do 2 sets of 15 to 24 reps.

You replace any of the exercises mentioned above with a 60 second burst of skipping if you have a skipping rope. It is a workout that tones your body!
