From Flab to Abs
Everyone knows Bipasha Basu as a fitness freak today. She has been an inspiration for me for quite a few years ! Let’s talk about her story –
When Bipasha was shooting for the movie ‘No Entry’, she was quite overweight. That’s when she realised that she needed to shed weight.
In one of her interviews, she admitted that she started running without any trainer and went on crash diet. She had no knowledge of health at fitness at that time. Suddenly, she started getting immense pain in her knees.
She was asked to undergo MRI (Magnetic Resonance Imaging) and the reports revealed that she was suffering from an extreme condition – Osteoarthritis. Her knees had become like that of a 65-year-old person. One of the doctors told her she wouldn’t be able to do any action sequences or even stand for long hours. Another doctor advised her bed rest.
She adopted weight training. She was asked to strengthen her thigh and butt muscles to maintain the correct balance so as to offset the weak knees. And the rest is history.

Bipasha Basu today has a jaw-dropping figure and abs that envy many! In her mid 30’s, she can give a run to a 25-year-old!
She has released two successful fitness DVD’s – ‘Love Yourself Fit & Fabulous You’ and ‘Break Free’ which have inspired a lot of people.
Bipasha is one of the most desirable ambassadors for sports brands. Her body speaks of cardiovascular exercises, weight training, treadmill, yoga, and cycling.

I read somewhere that Bipasha Basu does Suryanamaskar 108 times a day. As per Bipasha, Fitness is about 50% Diet and 50% Exercise. You can read the balance of diet and exercise here.
Bipasha admits that you need to love yourself to care enough for your body. ‘Enjoy being who you are’ is her mantra to a happy life. She firmly believes that you need strong determination and discipline to live a fit and healthy lifestyle. She exercises 6 days in a week and has a daily schedule for each workout.
I cannot decide if she looks more Hot or Fit here. What do you think ?
