Supermodel turned actress Deepika Padukone is ruling everyone’s heart now days. She is a perfect example of beauty with brains. With a successful 2013 she has had, she is definitely present queen of Bollywood. Talking about queen, I had to share her vogue cover queen image in which she looks uber sexy and confident. I actually bought that issue because of its appealing cover.

Talking about her fit and toned body she gives all the credit to her genes as well as her sporting and training background she had during her childhood. She is former national level badminton player and state level baseball player. She believes it instilled lot of disciple in her which has been key to her success whether it be movies or fitness.

Deepika Padukone’s Diet Plan

Deepika is a big foodie and never starves herself. She eats after every two hours which keeps her metabolism going strong.

  • On waking up: A fruit
  • Pos-Workout-Breakfast: She has king size breakfast with 1 bowl poha/upma/idli/parantha + slice of bread+4-5 egg whites.
  • Lunch: 2 rotis or bowl of rice, 1 bowl dal, 1 bowl vegetables and yoghurt.
  • Evening Snack (if required) Bhel or vegetable sandwhich
  • Dinner: 1 roti, a piece of chicken or fish, salad and 1 bowl vegetables.

She avoids heavy dinners and rice at night.
In between after every two hours she has vegetable juice or fruit. Being a south Indian she loves South Indian food though she indulges smartly. She has Dosa without potato fillings and Idli with green chutney rather than coconut chutney.

Known for her washboard abs Deepika is very disciplined and hard working when it comes to fitness. She does not take her body for granted and works very hard to keep it in shape. When on shoots she wakes up early at 6 in morning finishes her workout and then leave for work.

Deepika is more of a yoga person than Gym. She goes to the gym whenever she likes to and while shooting makes optimum use of hotel gym. As for Yoga she dedicatedly does it every morning.
When she is not gymming she walks twice a day, 30 minutes in morning and 30 minutes in evening.

What makes her stand apart is that on days when she is not in mood to workout she dances on loud music.  Jazz, Bharatnatyam and kathak she loves it all. She makes it a point to do some sort of activity everyday whether it be dance, yoga, walk, gym or badminton. Not even a single day passes without any kind of workout.

For movie like Cocktail where she had to wear a bikini, she did not go for any crash diets as she does not believe in them. Since she has always stayed fit and healthy so just couple of days before shoot she tweaked her work out a little to obtain toned body required for the scene. That is when her fitness trainer introduced her to Pilates which did wonders for her body and has now become a part of her daily workout.

“Make fitness your way of life. I do regular exercise, Yoga, eat healthy and positive thinking is what makes me look good”
She believes in making fitness a habit and lifestyle change. Eating healthy and working out is a ritual that she follows everyday just like other daily chores. It is not something extra that she has to fit in her daily routine. It is the way she lives.

For those who shed kilos she advices to workout 5-6 times a week. She recommends combining Cardio with weight training for healthy weight-loss and toned body.
For those who want to maintain their weight she advices to workout 3-4 days a week and have a healthy diet.
