Factors Causing Cellulite
Do you always think that excess body fat gives you cellulite? You are wrong here. Even lean and fit people can get cellulite. There are several factors that can give you cellulite. Keep reading to find out the factors causing cellulite!
1) Intake of too much of processed and junk food
Say no to junk food and processed stuff as they can cause cellulite. According to a study published in the International Journal of Cosmetic Science, such foods have irritants and preservatives present in them that increase sugar and toxins in the body and lead to cellulite. Junk and processed foods are not good for overall health too and lead to weight gain. So, stick to real foods and stop eating processed stuff. It is the best to make your meals out of scratch.
2) Excess body weight
High levels of estrogen (the female hormone) can cause cellulite. There may be other factors that lead to excess of estrogen in the body but more of estrogen is produced in the body when there are more fat cells or when the person is overweight. If you happen to be overweight, the only thing you can do is to shed weight by controlling your diet and being more physically active. Moving around with extra body weight can lead to more health issues so you need to take swift action.
3) Consuming oral contraceptives
If you have been taking the contraceptive pill constantly, it means that you will be having higher levels of estrogen in the body that in turn causes cellulite. Talk to your doctor about it and he or she will advice you better.
4) Less water intake
Water is helpful in removing toxins from the body and in cleaning the lymphatic system. If you are not drinking sufficient amount of water, the toxins get trapped in the body in the form of cellulite. Water is required for the biochemical processes that take place in the body. So, if you want to get rid of cellulite and keep your body functioning well, you must drink water!
5) Sedentary lifestyle
A sedentary lifestyle can result in cellulite. When you sit for a long time at the same place, there is a decrease in the blood circulation to the lower part of the body. This causes cellulite. The sad part is that most of us spend our day sitting at the desk at the workplace. We don’t move around too often in spite of the fact that we humans are programmed to be on the move! So, while working at your desk, take short breaks and walk around your office. Stretch often and fit in some time for brisk walking in your routine.
6) Tight clothes
Some people wear tight clothes to look slim and fit but such clothes restrict the flow of blood and prevent the body from flushing out toxins resulting in cellulite. Wear clothes that you are comfortable in and the kind that don’t hamper blood circulation.
7) Too much of caffeine intake
One cup of coffee a day is fine as most people can’t do without it. However, an overdose of caffeine can result in cellulite. So, be careful about your caffeine intake.
Keep the above factors in mind and avoid cellulite.
