The liver is a filtering system that sucks in the bad and spits out the good. It has several important functions that help in keeping an individual healthy. It removes toxins from the blood stream and helps in digesting food.
The liver is a fat burning organ. The nutrients of the food are converted into essential blood components, vitamins and minerals get stored in it, proteins and enzymes are produced to maintain the balance of hormones in the body. The liver also helps fight infections and secrete bile for digesting meals.
Liver problems can be inherited or can occur due to infection or harmful chemicals. If you don’t take care of your liver, you increase the risk of cardiovascular disease, obesity, chronic fatigue, digestive problems, headaches, allergies and other health issues.
It is the immune system that protects the body from infections but it is the liver that protects the immune system from getting over-burdened.
