Being a minimalist with regard to skin care products would be a great idea as you would be applying less number of chemicals on your skin. However, changing seasons also have an effect on your skin health. As winter is approaching, your skin may feel dry and parched, so let’s find out how to get a glowing skin in winters!
1) Use ylang-ylang essential oil
This essential oil helps in balancing the oils in your skin. It does not matter if your skin is too dry or too oily, ylang-ylang oil will bring your skin to its ideal state. The essential oil also has antioxidants that help in protecting the skin from wrinkles and premature ageing. Now, you can apply this oil by mixing two drops of it with a teaspoon of jojoba oil or rosehip oil. Pat it into your facial skin while it is still damp.
2) Take care of your gut

4) Make your own face pack
Take a tablespoon of raw honey and add a tablespoon of extra-virgin olive oil along with a few drops of lemon juice. Apply this to your face or other dry areas and allow it to sit for 15 to 20 mins. Wash it off with a warm washcloth. Both olive oil and honey will help in bringing back the moisture to your dry skin. Also, lemon has skin-brightening properties.
5) Essential fatty acids
If you have dry skin, you need to consume foods that help the skin look fresh and hydrated. Those who have a dry and inflamed skin should consume more of essential fatty acids. Foods rich in them include eggs, fatty fish, avocados, nuts, seeds and coconut oil. These foods have healthy fats that keep the skin hydrated.
6) Use a humidifier
To keep your skin soft and smooth, you can invest in a good humidifier. Install it in your bedroom and this will help your skin from getting dried up while you are asleep. Also, avoid long showers with hot water as it can dry out your skin. Choose for a warm shower instead and don’t extend it beyond 10 minutes.
I hope the above tips will help you out and keep your skin glowing this winter!
