Good Snacks For A Low Carb Diet

Low carb diet does not limit your yummy food options. Whenever you feel like snacking, you can munch on lettuce, carrots or nuts. But when these snacks become monotonous or you are craving for zing in your food then you can try these Good Snacks For A Low Carb Diet which will give much needed taste without increasing unwanted fats and carbs.

Paneer Tikka

A single serving contains around 167 calories. Total carbohydrate is 12 g approx. and it has 21 g protein.

1/2 kg Paneer cubes, about 1.5″ each

1 tsp Chaat Masala

2 tsp Chilli Powder

2 tsp Garlic Paste

2 tsp Ginger Paste

1 Tandoori Masala

1 tsp powdered Black Pepper

Oil for brushing

1 tbsp Salt

3 tbsp Vinegar or 1 cup Yogurt

1 Onion, sliced into rings – for garnish


Take all the ingredients except onion rings in a bowl, mix well and leave for30 minutes.

Place the paneer on a drip pan and bake in pre-heated oven for 10 minutes.

Take out, brush with oil and bake for another 10 minutes.

Garnish with onion rings and serve.

Chicken Tikka

It contains 214.6 calories, 6.6 g fat and 9.9 g carbs. The protein content is around 30 g.

1 Tbsp olive oil

1 cup diced onion

1 1/2 tsp cumin powder

1 1/2 tsp ground cardamom

2 tsp coriander powder

1 tsp turmeric powder

1/4 tsp ground cloves

1/4 tsp ground cinnamon

Red pepper flakes, to taste

2 tsp minced fresh ginger

2 tsp minced garlic

2 Tbsp tomato paste

750 gram petite diced tomatoes

3 chicken breasts, no skin, diced (about 1 lb 9 oz)


Heat 2 tbsp oil in a pan and saute onion in it.

Add cumin, cardamom, coriander, tumeric, cloves, cinnamon, and red pepper flakes and saute for a minute.

Add ginger, garlic, tomato paste, and diced tomatoes and bring to boil.

Lower the flame and add chicken. Simmer till the chicken turns soft.

Chicken tikka is ready and you can garnish it with yogurt or lemon.

Moong Sprout Salad

A salad with 50 gms moong , 1 small onion and 1 medium tomato is approximately 228 calories, 34 net carbs and 14 protein.





Chaat masala

Red chilli powder and/or pepper

Chopped onions, tomato

Sauces like Mayo (optional)


Steam moong in microwave or in hot boiling salty water. I usually soak moong overnight or 3-4 hours before steaming.

Add chopped onions and tomato. You can add green chilli too.

Add salt , pepper , chaat masala , red chilli powder as per you taste.

Add mayo or other low carb sauces if you wish.

Mix well and done.

1 ripe pineapple, cut into half inch slices

For the marinade-

2 tbsp honey

1 tsp olive oil

1 tbsp lime juice

1 tsp ground cinnamon


Mix all marinade ingredients together in a bowl.

Brush pineapple pieces with the marinade and set on a grill rack.

You can cook this on any kind of grill.

Cook for about 5 minutes on each side till the pineapple pieces turn tender.
