How To Bake Whole Wheat Pizza Base At Home?

Hi my dear ones,

I am back again, the other day, Husband dear who loves pizza’s decided to get on my nerves by forcing me into his favourite pizza place. Anyhow, I like pizza of course who does not, but I hate to gulp down refined flour. So I promised him that I will baking some whole wheat base and add his favourite toppings.

I will quickly tell you how to make this easy peasy whole wheat pizza base:


  • 4 cups whole wheat flour,
  • 1 teaspoon salt,
  • 2 teaspoon sugar,
  • 15 ml vegetable oil,
  • 7gms instant yeast- I used allinsons.
  • 400 ml water- one part boiling and three parts cold (mix together)


  • Prepare by preheating the oven to 180°
  • Mix together the dry ingredients and add vegetable oil, bind the dough using the water till it becomes soft and forms fine round dough. Cover the dough with a moist cloth and leave in a warm place for one hour or till it rises till double.
  • Once it is done, punch the dough so that it goes back to its normal size.
  • Now take one portion of the dough and make a round ball, for making your pizza base,
  • Using a rolling pin, make a circular base and keep rolling using some dry flour,
  • Roll till you achieve a thin base.
  • Now, poke the base with fork all over the base, this helps in getting a crisp base.

  • Bake for about 10 minutes till it is cooked.
  • Do remember we will add toppings and bake again, so the base should not be overly done.

I also make my own dinner rolls with flax seeds on top as I love baking my own bread.
