How To Build Up Running Stamina


Last year when my baby was 5-6 months old and I was struggling to lose weight, I thought of running. I went for a day and after fifteen minutes I came back. I found running seriously difficult and wonder how these people run for so long. I spoke to one of my husband’s friend who has participated in many marathons. As per her I need to build up stamina and do more cardio in the gym .

I wasn’t able to follow that without any guidance. Running on treadmill for 15 minutes all together was boring and neither I had the stamina to do it.I committed myself to aerobics which I enjoyed and was comfortable doing it.


I have subscribed myself to many fitness sites and one day I saw this Β running schedule which trains one to run 30mins continuously in eight weeks.I don’t know which site it was as I just saved the schedule and didn’t bookmark the post. So if anyone of you know which site has published this schedule then do let me know πŸ™‚

It’s been two weeks since I have been following this schedule and Β I am so happy to tell you that I can run 30 minutes continuously with one minute break in between.I am the same person who couldn’t run for five minutes continuously.This running schedule is actually working for me. I will update you more in the coming week about my progress.:)

We always think people get it easy but people really work hard for what they achieve.I recently asked Gul panag to give tips on stamina building and this is what her reply was.

I still can not think of running 5kms and Gul Panag can actually run 10km in an hour. How amazing is that! I really wish I reach that level of fitness one day.




Coming over to my fitness level, I haven’t lost much of kgs but I am feeling fit and more energetic. Infact when I am running for half an hour now, I am Β not tired I just feel little bored looking at the time thinking how many minutes more running is left πŸ˜›

I also have joinedΒ Zumba classes and after my first class I found it awesome. Something much more interesting than regular mundane workout. Although I can’t attend the class regularly but whatever I am doing I am having a lot of fun πŸ™‚

I clicked this picture yesterday and I do see that I have lost more weight from my belly area.Although I still have a long way to go but I am glad that all those notions of having a C section and never able to lose weight from the belly are completely false. If you work for it you very well can πŸ™‚

Oh ! One more thing before I end the post.My PCOS is undercontrol yeyeyeyey and now I am having regular chums(periods). I will tell you more about it in my coming post.

  1. Wow πŸ™‚ , Gul has sooooooooo much stamina. I also cannot run much and burn calories on the treadmill by walking briskly at maximum incline. Now i am also going to run this way.
