How To Eat Healthy On A Date
Let us face it, when you are on a weight loss spree you still have to socialize with people. You can’t go to Mars, follow a specific diet, workout religiously, get your weight reduced and land back on Earth! You just have to mingle with people and live in the real world. There will be business lunches and wedding feasts coming your way constantly. And what about dating? You never know when cupid strikes!
Yes, you will go for a date after you meet your Mr.Right! Healthy eating and a date! Not a very good combination I say. Love is all about sweet things like creamy choco truffle cakes, gooey and calorie laden stuff! Even a no love situation can make you want eat all that stuff :P! But what about your diet plan? How can you have that sinful piece of chocolate dripping cake! Your hardwork will practically go down the drain! Oh my!
It may sound difficult but if you are planning to go on a date, you have to learn to make healthy choices. With a little tweak here and a little tweak there you can actually manage well on a date. Here is how you have to go about it:
Instead of going to have alcohol, go in for tea and coffee. Keep it sober! Alcohol can affect your weight! Indulging in alcohol will not be a good idea if you want to lose weight. Okay! You are at the coffee shop! Now what? Just be careful with the whipped cream, caramel and flavoured syrups. A humble cup of tea will be a good idea and it will allow you to pay more attention to your partner rather than the ingredients of your coffee.
If you happen to go for the dinner date, do not skip meals. You can plan ahead by eating something light during the day if you don’t know where you are heading for dinner. If you know the location, it would be a good idea to review the menu of the restaurant and plan your meal according to your diet plan. This way, you won’t seem to be too fitness conscious and picky! You will be happy about doing your homework.
Dining at home
The old saying goes- ‘The way to a man’s heart is through his stomach.’ This hold good even today! It would be great to cook up a meal at home and play the hostess. Now the catch here is that since you are cooking, you can include healthy stuff and things that are a part of your diet plan. This way you will get to spend lots of time together and you will also save the money that you would have spent on expensive restaurant food.
Move a bit
After your dinner dates, it is time for a change. Instead of sitting and eating and talking about practically nothing, it would be wiser to have walk in the garden or to a beautiful botanical garden in your city. You would have many options if you live in the Garden City- Bangalore. The best place for a date is the beach in Chennai. The tranquility of the moving waves, splish-splash in the water, it is a great place to spend the evening. Coming back to the topic, you can also go for biking together. This way you will get your physical exercise too. Skiing (if you in Shimla!), hiking, trekking are also great ideas. You can spend time with your partner as well as lose extra kilos!
