How To Stay Glowing With Health This Diwali?
Diwali is round the corner! Yay! The most awaited time of the year. Sweets, gifts, dry fruits and of course new clothes! You will have to attend Diwali parties and do a lot of meeting up, which will make your days shorter and nights longer. So this festive season what should you do to be in perfect health with a natural glow? It is simple, all about a healthy lifestyle. Find out!
If you aren’t used to a healthy eating pattern, it will be harder to stick to strict diets that too when you tempted with all kinds of delicacies. However, you can be a step ahead of your metabolism by breaking down the 4 meals you eat (breakfast, lunch, dinner and snack) into 8 smaller meals spread through the day. This way you will eat every two hours.
You should keep in mind that just like walking and running, digestion burns calories. Eating smaller meals makes your body burn more calories when compared one big meal. This gives your body a workout. Eating every 2 hours will also help in keeping your cravings under control. Keep having lots of veggies so that you get the much needed antioxidants.
Just remember not to starve your body in order to knock off a few kilos. Be smart and eat what is right for you. Don’t be scared of food, it isn’t your enemy, it is your friend.
Starting a 60 min cardio exercise session is not a bad idea. Exercise is helpful in speeding up your metabolic rate by at least 20 to 30 percent. It will even help you burn the treats that you allow yourself during this season. When you exercise, blood also rushes to your skin providing that much-needed glow. Exercising not just helps with weight loss but will also make you look young and fresh.
Diwali season can deprive you of sleep because of all the late night parties and socialising. If you are someone who cheats on sleep with or without the festive season, you better be careful! Sleep is essential for your body but sadly it is undervalued. When you sleep, the body heals and repairs itself and this includes your skin. Without proper sleep, your skin won’t glow. Also a strong link exists between sleep and obesity. So, keep all your important chores aside and sleep for at least 7 to 8 hours every day. You need quality sleep for overall well being.
No matter how hard you try, you cannot hide dull and dehydrated skin with makeup. For a natural glow, you must drink as much water as you can. At least 2 litres of water should be your daily target. These days ‘detox water’ has also become the ‘in thing’ as it claims to help you lose weight. Even if it doesn’t help you knock off kilos, it will at least help you stay hydrated. There is another reason for staying hydrated. The thirst and hunger centres in the brain are so close that you may feel hungry when you are actually thirsty. Staying adequately hydrated will prevent you from confusing thirst with hunger.
Keep the above things in mind! Take care of yourself and glow this Diwali!
