1) Discard the liquid present in canned beans and fruits
The liquid of canned beans is packed with sodium which is salt in this case. It acts as a preservative so it would be better to simply throw it away. Too much of sodium can affect the heart as well as the circulatory system. Over time it can lead to high blood pressure, stroke and heart attacks!
The liquid in preserved fruits contains Bisphenol A or BPA. BPA is chemical that is linked to a range of health problems right from brain damage to cancer.
2) Add fibre and omega 3 to your diet in order to fight the harmful effects of fructose
Most of the processed foods have fructose in them. It is a type of sugar that is linked to diabetes, metabolic syndrome, obesity and brain disorders such as dementia and Alzheimer’s disease. If you consume a lot of processed food, add fibre and omega 3 to your diet to reduce the effects of fructose.
According to at least study, eating foods that are rich in omega 3 acids can help in reversing the damage caused to the brain by fructose. Rich sources of omega 3 are fatty fish, flaxseeds, avocados, walnuts, kidney beans and olive oil.

Fresh produce, on the other hand is treated with chemicals to keep them fresh till they reach consumers in different cities. However, do check the manufacturing date before you but the frozen veggies. Say no to the ones that have been frozen for several months.
4) Add healthy ingredients to your breakfast
If you happen to rely on cereal or oats for the first meal of the day, add in some fruits, cinnamon and honey to raise its health quotient. Fruits have vitamins and minerals whereas cinnamon and honey are a powerful combination that fights immunity.
5) Purchase full-fat dairy products instead of the low-fat ones
According to studies, it has been found that full fat milk and other dairy products are far healthy than low fat dairy. It may sound surprising but full fat dairy lowers rates of obesity and the risk of diabetes.
6) Buy organic produce
These days produce is sprayed with lots of pesticides and that can be bad for health. Choose organic fruits and veggies even if they are a little expensive. After all health is wealth!
7) Soak produce in salt water
Don’t just wash fruits and veggies with plain water. Instead soak them in salt water for a while. This way you will get rid of dirt and germs. You may even reduce the pesticide residue.
