Here is a diet to manage high uric acid level
You can reduce the elevated levels of uric acid with dietary changes. Here is a list of dos and don’ts while choosing the diet for reducing high levels of uric acid.
1) Add high-fibre foods
Adding high dietary fibre foods to your diet lowers the uric acid levels in your blood. Fibre is said to help absorb the uric acid in your bloodstream and allow it to get eliminated from the body through the kidneys. So, increase consumption of fibrous foods such as isabgol, spinach and broccoli.
2) Use olive oil
Instead of vegetable oils it would better to use cold-pressed olive oil as oils subjected to processing and heat turn rancid very quickly. Rancid fats are said to destroy vitamin E in the body and this particular vitamin is necessary to control uric acid level. Olive oil thus is a good choice.
3) Consume vitamin C
In order to reduce the uric acid in the body, taking 500 mg of vitamin C regularly will decrease the levels o uric acid in a month or so.
4) Reduce intake of baked goodies
Avoid eating cakes, cookies and other baked goods as they contain trans fat and saturated fat.

6) Eat foods rich in antioxidants
Fruits and veggies like red bell peppers, broccoli, tomatoes, blueberries and grapes are a rich source of antioxidants. They fight free radical damage and may help in lowering the levels of uric acid.
7) Eat cherries
Cherries have chemical compounds that enable neutralizing uric acid allowing the body to eliminate the acid. Researchers recommend eating 30 to 40 cherries every 4 hours during an attack.
Apple cider vinegar can alleviate high levels of uric acid. Choose the raw and unpasteurized one. Add 2 teaspoons of it to one glass of water and stir nicely. Drink a glass 2-3 times a day. It can also be applied topically.
9) Avoid saturated fat, sugar, trans fat and alcohol
Saturated fat, sugar, trans fat and alcohol can clog arteries and increase your risk of heart attack and stroke.
10) High fructose corn syrup
This sweetener is present in processed foods and in soft drinks. It elevates the levels of uric acid and triglyceride.
11) Drink lots of fluids
Drink at least 3 ½ litres of water every day. Water helps the kidney in removing the impurities from the body.
12) Avoid high protein diets
You must avoid diets that are high in protein and are meant for weight loss. They can produce too much of uric acid.
13) Reduce meat consumption
Limit meat, fish and poultry consumption. Animal proteins can raise your uric acid levels.
14) Consume complex carbs
Eat more of whole grains, veggies, fruits and less of refined carbs. Foods rich in complex carbs prevent overeating and help in maintaining a healthy weight.
