Moderate Carbohydrate Indian Recipe-Spinach Paneer Cheela

Hello Fitness lovers,

I am here again to share my latest try with an interesting Healthy recipe which is prepared in just 1 tsp oil. It is a Spinach Paneer Chilla Recipe and is also an ideal Low Carb Recipe which can also aid in quick weightloss.

I am a self-acclaimed Fitness Freak and so practically when I prepare something healthy at home, it gives me immense pleasure and satisfaction. I feel really happy to prepare these interesting healthy recipes from time to time and when it is liked by my family, I really feel quite good inside!

Recently, I tried this Spinach Paneer besan chilla 2 -3 times and it turned out to be perfect for my liking.

The best thing about this chilla is that it is  very crisp on the outside and little soft inside. It ensures to fill your tummy for a good while without making you feel too heavy.

I am fond of experimenting with various healthy veggies and other ingredients to prepare various kinds of chilla and the best part is that it requires just 1 tsp oil.

This chila looks like a pan cake as its not thin and is more towards the thicker side .This is because I cooked it in Wonderchef Kapoor Super Tandoor.This tandoor is with me since an year but somehow I always wanted to do something special and show it to the weight loss reader but never managed to take out time for it.

I have lot of recipes to share with you guys which are quick, healthy and will help you in achieveing your fitness goal.

One of the reasons that this recipe turned out to be healthy is the 1tsp oil and the Tandoor in which it was cooked. Generally you require more that 3-4 tsp oil when shallow frying something or cooking a chilla on a non-stick pan, but that wouldn’t solve our purpose of the less oil, so I considered cooking in the Tandoor a wise decision.

Why I think this Tandoor is a must have

  • Not very expensive
  • Easy to clean
  • You can make so many things in it from paneer tikka to grilled sandwiches and with hardly any oil so what more one need

Well, now its time to begin with the recipe!


  • 150 gm paneer( Indian cheese)

  • 10gmmspinach (steamed/blanched and chopped .

  • Salt as per taste

  • Red chilli powder as per taste

  • 1 chopped green chilli

  • 50gm besan (gram flour)

Method of Preparation-

  • First of all take all the ingredients and mix them properly with seasoning. A thick paste needs to be formed.

  • The consistency of this paste should not be too thin as then it would break while spreading on the tandoor base.

  • I just need to cook it for 10 minutes and it is perfectly cooked from the inside out!

  • One can even add 1 tsp oil in the paste itself and then spread it on the tandoor base.

  • Pair this interesting chilla with your favorite coriander chutney or any dip of your choice. And not Tomato sauce!

This is one of the most preferred food for low carb diet followers as well. At times when I have leftover Aloo methi sabji, then I prepare a similar chilla recipe.
