Quick And Healthy Breakfast Ideas
You can’t miss them anyways…
Everybody says have a “heavy” breakfast, now does that mean have oily stuff or eat till you are overstuffed ? No absolutely not. Heavy breakfast implies eat food that is nutritious and loaded with proteins accompanied by limited amount of carbs which provides sufficient energy to carry out daily chores and are completely digested by end of the day.
Quick And Healthy Breakfast Ideas
In today’s hectic and busy lifestyle preparing a entire heavy (read: healthy and nutritious) breakfast is a task in itself. Making this task easier for you, here I am listing some quick and healthy breakfast options for a fitter you and your family.
Smoothie
First of all, Smoothie is not an add on, it’s a complete meal in itself provided the ingredients are healthy and nutritious. Lately, I am indulging in a lot of smoothies and will share recipes soon.
Paneer Cheese Sandwich
The recipe has been shared already on blog. I tried it myself with little tweaks like addition of capsicum and onion accompanied by subtraction of cheese. It is a healthy, protein-rich and easy to make toast. You can read it here
Sprouts
Make them a day before. Add vegetables you love, little lime juice, seasonings, toss it and you are done; again protein rich and super healthy. When you have something prepared in advance you will never skip your breakfast and indulge in unhealthy stuff.
Poha
For me, this is the easiest and yummiest breakfast option. I sauté all the vegetables in a pan, rinse poha and add it to the vegetables mixture. Add seasonings, fresh coriander and crunchy peanuts in the end for crispy effect, ditch the typical Aloo bhujia. Easy Peasy 😛
Besan ka Chilla
This is also super easy and healthy. Add in lots of chopped vegetables in mixture to make it more delicious and use less oil to keep it healthy. You can also try Healthy Savory Waffles, recipe here.
Fruits with Yoghurt
A big bowl of Yoghurt with lots of chopped fruits like strawberries, kiwi and banana is really healthy and satisfying alternative. This is a kind of a snack you can have at any time of day. So in case you are in a real hurry, have it as a breakfast meal.
Milk and Muesli
I generally like GAIA Muesli. There are lots of flavours available. While buying Kellogg’s and muesli or anything packaged please read the ingredients before buying. If it contains lots of sugar keep it right back. Google for the ingredient you are unaware of but do not say ignorant to what you put in your stomach.
Oatmeal
Vegetable oatmeal is healthier than Sweet one. But you can always have it while you are craving for sweets. Do not pick up the packed oatmeal available in market. Take 5 minutes out of your busy calendar and make fresh oatmeal with lots of colourful vegetables.
Milk and Nuts
Easiest and a no-brainer option. Have some nuts, gulp down a glass of milk and done! Can anything be easier than this?
These are all the options that I make in my daily life when I am in hurry and want something healthy and quick. In case you need recipe for any of the things above, let me know. I will try and get it on blog as soon as I can.

I just can’t eat oats….I hate them
so do i :P. especially in milk
but there are so many recipes with oats, like oats upma, oats uthapa, oats masala, oats pongal, poats bismilla bath, oats kichidi, oats roti etc, recent days i depend completely on oats, i hate eating oats in milk, but i love the above recipes they are veryyyyy tasty, one sholud give a try 🙂
guys – how do u do the veggie oats – like just cook the oats separately and add cooked veggies – or cook them all together under pressure?
Yuvika, just cook the oats in a non stick pan and then add steamed/boiled veggies. I make it this way 🙂
aah okay – will try that!
I guess am the odd one out here but I absolutely love my oats in milk. Instead of sugar I add jaggery, dry fruits and flax seed powder. I dont enjoy my oats any other way and its my, hubby’s and son’s breakfast on every weekday. Yes I make this everyday Mon-Fri. 🙂 Sat/Sun is for other breakfast items like idli, dosa, dhokla, egg preparations. Sadly my husband doesn’t like upma, poha, dalia and chilas so even though they are super healthy and super delicious, I dont make them. 🙁
Pat on your back Preeti 🙂
