1) Nut oils
Nut butters have been a rage throughout last year as many have decided to stick to plant based diets and stop eating animal based food. Now nut oils have come up and you will be able to find cold-pressed walnut oil, cashew nut oil and almond oil. They are a healthier alternative to the regular sunflower or vegetable oils.
A new green has arrived and it is making people crazy! It was always there in India but now it has been acknowledged by the west also. Its moringa! It is nothing but the leaves of the good old drumstick tree. It is loaded with nutrients and goodness and should be a part of your diet.
3) Cassava Flour
It is time to move on to cassava flour. It is best for those who can’t eat gluten. Apart from being gluten-free, cassava flour is paleo-friendly, vegan and good one for the nut allergic folks.
It has become a superfood because it is plant-based and a non-allergenic food. If you are still wondering what it is, let me tell you thatit is nothing but the plant root from where you get sabudana! Sabudana (sago) is used widely in India since ages in many regions!
Watermelon seeds are the next big thing in the healthy food aisle! To make most of their goodness, you should sprout and de-shell them. Just one cup has 31 g or protein and has nutrients like magnesium, vitamin B and healthy fats.
You can have them as a mini- snack or roast them and garnish your bowl of oats, yogurt or fruit salad.
5) Tiger nuts
Tiger nuts are immensely healthy and are slowly being added to most recipes. It is the new superfood. These raisin-sized nuts have a lot of fibre, plant-based protein, potassium and magnesium in it along with prebiotics that help with digestion.
They can be used as flour or even used as nut-milk if you want to give up dairy.
6) Probiotic waters
Back in 2016, probiotics made a solid place in the lives of the health freaks. Probiotics are still revered. You can add them to your smoothies and yogurt. However, what do you think about probiotic water? It will make things easier for your digestive system! This year you can get your hands on probiotic water very easily. Being in liquid form, your good bacteria will settle down well in a matter of minutes. It is also a lot easier to consume!
