So, if your child isn’t eating anything at all, or is finding it difficult to swallow food, you must do something about it. Difficulty in swallowing along with fever and throat pain is one of the main symptoms of tonsillitis. You must consult the doctor and get it treated.
You get fever when there is an inflammation in the body. That is why one symptom of tonsillitis is a rise in body temperature. So, if you are suffering from fever which is between 100 and 102 degree Celsius that does not seem to come down even after consuming a paracetamol, it is a reason to worry. If you also have throat pain for more than one or two days, then you must consult your doctor.
Tonsillitis can also lead to headaches because of fever. The other cause of headaches is lack of energy due to long gaps between meals. It can make your headache worse. However, if your headache is clubbed with throat pain, it can be because of swollen tonsils. You need to get medical help to bring down your discomfort.
Throat pain and fever are common symptoms of tonsillitis and in certain cases there may also be cough. The reason to have cough along with the other symptoms of tonsillitis is that the inflammation can spread to the lungs. So, you need to consult your doctor if you have swollen tonsils, a bad throat and cough.
