The Volumetrics plan gives a plenty of food options to help you lose weight as it gives you 125 healthy recipes to choose from. The claim to fame of this diet is its ability to make you lose a pound or two a week. It is based on the “science of satiety”
This diet is all about eating foods that help to control hunger. Now this means eating a lot of “high volume, low calorie” foods like salads, soups, and whole grains. You need to eat all those fresh foods which can make your stomach full. This Volumetrics diet becomes a little tricky as you are required to know calories of all the foods that you intend eating.
Therapeutic Lifestyle Changes (TLC) plan was prepared by the National Institutes of Health for the purpose of lowering cholesterol levels and improving cardiovascular health. TLC Diet was, in fact not originally formulated for weight loss but when people started following it they got good weight loss results. This diet focuses on cutting down on saturated fats and increasing fiber foods. TLC is a flexible plan as far as foods are concerned. TLC diet plan is for maintaining an ideal body weight by determining the ideal daily calorie intake. This diet is based on basic guidelines.
Intake of saturated fat has to be kept below 7 percent of the total calorie intake
Daily cholesterol intake has to be kept below 200 milligrams
Sodium intake has to be below 2400 mg per day
25-35% of daily total calories should come from fats
Physical activity must be maintained regularly along with the diet, and at least 30 minutes of exercise daily is recommended.
This is not a very strict diet and a less regimented one. If you like to make your own meal plans then this is the best diet option for you.
The Biggest Loser Diet
Who doesn’t know about The Biggest Loser Diet? This is supposed to be a fun-filled diet plan, formulated by Cheryl Forberg. We all know Cheryl Forberg as the nutritionist on the popular weight loss television program The Biggest Loser. This is a little different and satisfying plan as it consists of three big meals a day and snacks. It doesn’t believe in starving yourself to diet. The emphasis in The Biggest Loser Diet is on shifting to lean protein, low-fat dairy or soy, along with fruits, vegetables and whole grains. Water as usual plays an important role in this diet too because the diet recommends drinking 6-8 glasses of water a day and cutting down on caffeine.This diet too comes with heavy exercising.
Whatever the diet plan you select but most important fact is that no weight loss program is complete without light or heavy exercising. So if you wish to lose weight in 2015 then please eat healthy food and exercise for minimum 40 – 60 minutes.
