Slogging at the office the entire week can be quite taxing on your health and happiness. The weekend is meant to be enjoyed!! It is a kind of stress buster, right? But what about your fitness regime? Don’t worry you can stick to your fitness plan and still have a great weekend. Here are a few easy to follow tips that will help you enjoy your weekend and at the same time help you lose weight.

Have carbs in the morning

You can happily enjoy your carbs at the start of the day. Eat them at breakfast or at brunch. The reason of having them in the morning is that you have the rest of the day to burn the calories you get from them.

Instead of heading for lunch with your friend, it would be a better idea to ask her to workout with you at the gym. You can spend time together and gossip 😉 and at the same time you won’t be compromising on your workout. If not the gym it can be an open air workout in the park.

There is a new restaurant in the vicinity and you want to check it out with a few of your friends. No problem you can go ahead but prior to that just know about the menu options so that you can order things that won’t affect your diet plan. The menu should have at least something that matches your needs.

Drink more water

Keeping yourself well hydrated is essential for your health. This is a universal truth! Make sure that you carry your water bottle along if you have plans to step out with friends. Drinking water will also prevent you from overindulging during meals.

Do a longer workout

The weekdays make it difficult to accommodate a full- fledged workout because you are really busy. So weekends are there to make up for that. Try planning longer workouts during the weekends. Go in for a long distance run that you have been procrastinating for quite some time. Just go ahead and give wings to your workout!

Don’t go hungry for a feast

People have the tendency to starve themselves before an elaborate meal at a party. Don’t do that, as you will tend to over eat and all the extra calories will mess up your metabolism. So much for your weight loss dreams!! Have some fruits and drink water before you show up at the feast.

Weekends are the perfect time to enjoy your favourite food. It is alright to go in for your favourite stuff , just remember to control your portions. It is essential to give in to your cravings and at the same time you should not get carried away. The best way out is to share it with your friends so that you don’t overeat.

Ok, so you had your wild party. Now it would be advisable to chalk out your healthy meals and exercises for the next day. This will make you feel less guilty and you will feel like a winner as you are planning for a healthier tomorrow!

When you are under stress you will tend to eat more of foods high in fat and sugar. Do activities that help you unwind and relax during the weekend. Weekends are meant for that only. This will help you in the long run to resolve your weight loss issues. Your Monday will also find you all geared up and refreshed!

Sleep well

People usually stay up late on weekends. This is not right. The sleep requirement varies   from person to person but a bare minimum of seven hours of sleep is essential for every human being. Lack of sleep can badly affect your mood. It can also mess up with the hormones that regulate hunger, affecting your weight loss goals in the long run.
