However, there are many people who skip there breakfast as they don’t find time! Hey! Learn to manage your time and eat your breakfast! There are others who think that the less they eat the more weight they will lose. That is not true at all. You will only grow ravenous by noon if you do that! A healthy breakfast provides you with energy to face the day head on!

Now comes the question of weight loss. Cutting out the carbs is a great way of reducing weight, so what should you concentrate more on? Proteins! If you include extra protein in your breakfast, you will actually be able to keep your appetite under control. If you happen to be an egg lover, you will find this breakfast just awesome. When you are in a hurry, there is nothing better than fixing a breakfast of scrambled eggs for yourself. Add in some cheese if you wish to as it will become even more tasty and filling. One large scrambled egg will give you about 6 g of protein. If you like omelets, you can go ahead with that too. Chop onions, green chillies and tomato and add all of them to your omelet and enjoy!

2) Fruits in curd

Curd is commonly found in homes and is a great protein source. Having it with your favourite fresh fruits is a great idea. You can add diced apples, peaches, grapes, and even exotic berries and make the breakfast colourful. Add a dash of chaat masala and salt. You must be wondering why I didn’t say bananas, well, you can add the too but if you are on a low carb diet, you need to give them a miss.

3) Pongal (Khichdi)

Pongal is a South Indian delicacy and is more like the North Indian khichdi. It is basically made out of rice and dal. If you want to increase the protein content in it and reduce the crabs you can make it with quinoa. Quinoa, as you all must be aware is a pseudo cereal rich in protein and does not contain gluten.

The uthapam is a thick dosa and you can really go creative with it! It can be made protein rich by adding paneer on top along with veggies. If you are an egg lover, you can have an egg topped uthapam too! You can use different combinations of toppings on the uthapam.

6) Dhoklas

Gujrati breakfast is almost incomplete without dhoklas. If you happen to enjoy the little sweetness and the tinge of tanginess it has to offer, then you should make it a part of your breakfast. Remember that just like idli it is steamed. Though making it may seem cumbersome to you, it is worth it. Why don’t you plan it as your weekend breakfast when you have all the time in the world and no need to rush.

7) Moong dal chilla

To make moong dal chilla, you need to soak the moong dal and make a batter out of it. Spread it round on the tawa. If you want something instant, you can try making the chilla with besan too. Both the chillas are packed with protein.
