Have you ever tried coconut butter? To some of us, it might sound intriguing, isn’t it? We Indians have heard about coconut water, dry coconut, coconut milk but coconut butter is a considerably new concept.

What is Coconut Butter?

The coconut butter is made by grinding the white meat of the coconut to give it a consistency similar to butter. This butter has a lot of health benefits to offer and most of them are similar to the ones offered by coconut oil!

1) Helps in weight loss

Healthy fats (medium-chain fatty acid) that are found in coconut butter help in weight loss but this does not mean that you start over eating it! A little amount of it on a regular basis is good enough. Coconut butter also helps in boosting metabolism, increasing calorie burn and improving energy levels.

2) Improves immunity

Coconut butter contains lauric acid which is great to boost immunity. It also treats viral infections such as a cold, flu, cold sores and warts. The presence of medium-chain fatty acids in coconut butter prevents or treats diseases such as osteoporosis, diabetes, gallbladder disease and Crohn’s disease.

3) Great for athletes

As this butter has medium-chain fatty acids, they are absorbed by the body more rapidly.  This way it provides a great source or energy for athletes.
