Review- Zenith Nutrition Folic Acid Supplement
I am back with yet another review of a supplement from Zenith Nutrition. This time it is folic acid. Most of you must be aware of the fact that folic acid is extremely important for proper metabolism of fat and the synthesis of DNA and RNA and it does not stop with that!
More on folic acid
Folic acid belongs to the family of B vitamins. Everybody needs it as it helps the body in making new healthy cells. It is really important for women of child bearing age. It is essential for women to get sufficient amount of folic acid before pregnancy and during it too as this can prevent major birth defects in the brain or spine of the unborn baby.
Food that have folic acid in them
No wonder we have been asked to eat our greens right from childhood! Include spinach of all kinds in your diet.
Fruits are great sources of vitamins and minerals. Citrus fruits, oranges in particular have the highest amount of folic acid when compared to other fruits. The other fruits to include are papaya, grapes, grapefruit, banana, cantaloupe, strawberries, raspberries.
Beans, peas and lentils
You get folic acid from black-eyed beans, kidney beans and green peas. Having a small bowl of lentils is also good for you.
Seeds and nuts
The above are some foods from which you can get folic acid but if you diet is poor and you don’t have a variety of foods in your diet, it would be better to have a dietary supplement. Zenith Nutrition’s folic acid supplement is a dietary supplement that provides you with the daily dose of folic acid.
